Hibiscus Cuttings Giveaway – Long Beach City College

Hello Hibiscus Friends,
Welcome to our kickoff event for 2025 at the Long Beach City College on Saturday April 5th 10am-1pm at the Horticulture Center. To participate in the cuttings giveaway you must RSVP your spot with us ahead of time. There will be two rounds of cuttings giveaways at our event with the 1st round for all people in attendance that have reserved a spot to receive a cutting. The 2nd round of cuttings which will be some hard to get, highly coveted varieties will be for paying SCHS members only. We advise to become a member before attending the cuttings giveaway to make your day there easy and stress free.

We will have a couple of our expert growers talk about how to prep, root and care for your cuttings to make sure you have every advantage and resource available to achieve success. Also check out our website where we also have a page dedicated to rooting hibiscus cuttings among many other important growing and care aspects of hibiscus.
The LBCC Horticulture Center is conveniently located on the west side of Walnut Ave just above the corner of Pacific Coast Highway. Parking is available on Walnut St if you can find a space. Free parking is also located at Parking Lot 10 across the street by the athletic field as well as the parking lot just north of the horticultural center which also has charging stations for electric vehicles. You can also park in the parking structure which the driveway to the structure is immediately before the Horticulture Center on the west side. There is another large event taking place on the campus at the same time as our event so you might get charged for parking in the structure. If there is an attendant let them know you are there for the Horticulture Culture Open House Event. You might be able to park without charge but we cannot guarantee this.

We are looking forward to seeing you all there! The weather should be perfect for our event. Restrooms are available onsite as well as areas to sit but we do recommend you bring your own chairs and anything else to make yourself comfortable as table space might not be enough for all attendees. Coffee and tea will be provided by the Horticulture Center as well. Should be great day and a fantastic way to start off your weekend.
